# Adding a traffic source
# Traffic source in the tracker
A traffic source in Keitaro is a template for receiving click parameters from an ad network and sending conversions through S2S postback.
This section allows you to manage traffic sources and view their statistics.

To add a traffic source, open Sources, and click Create.

Check for a ready-made template for your ad network. The template name matches the source domain.
If a ready-made template is available, the tracker fills in the main settings automatically: parameters and S2S postback. After that, save the source and attach it to your campaign.

# Traffic source settings
- Template. Select a ready-made traffic source template. If a template is available, the parameters and S2S postback are filled in automatically.
- Name. The traffic source name in the tracker.
- S2S postback. The URL for sending conversions to the traffic source. See Traffic Source Postback.
- Send only statuses. The conversion statuses sent to the traffic source.
- Taboola key. An additional field used only for the Taboola source. See Taboola key.
- Parameters. Campaign Parameters passed from the traffic source to the tracker.
After you select a traffic source in the campaign settings, the tracker automatically adds its parameters to the Campaign URL.
If you change the parameters in the source template, select Apply to campaigns:

Open the campaign settings and select the traffic source in the Source field.
# Adding a traffic source without a template
If a ready-made template is not available, create it manually.
Request the list of parameters and macros from the traffic source. Those values are added to the campaign URL on click.
Go to Sources → Create.
In the first column, enter parameter aliases if required. This column is used for names displayed in tracker reports.

- In the second column, enter the parameter names used in the tracker. Those names are also used for passing values further, for example in the offer URL.

- In the third column, enter the source macros used for passing parameter values.

# Taboola key

In the Taboola key field, add the Client Secret API key. It is used to decode the CPC placeholder, and import costs into the tracker.
WARNING
Getting the Taboola API key may take up to 72 hours. Request the key before launching your ad campaign. Send an email to support@taboola.com for assistance.

How to track advertising costs?
If the ad network passes the click cost (bid), adjust the cost parameter in the traffic source settings.
For example, if the network uses the token, enter it in the Token field.
If the source does not pass the click cost, use manual cost updates in Campaign → Update costs.
